Your Questions, Answered

Good questions deserve good answers.

If you're deciding whether Caerus is the right fit, this is a good place to start. Better decisions begin with clear information.

Working with Us

What makes Caerus different from other financial advisors?

Caerus brings wealth planning, tax strategy, and risk management into one coordinated conversation.

Many people receive advice in pieces — one person handles investments, another prepares taxes, another reviews insurance. The problem is that those decisions often affect one another.

We help you see the full picture, understand what matters now, and make decisions with more clarity.

How do I get started?

The first step is a simple conversation. We'll ask what prompted you to reach out, what decision you're trying to make, and what would make the conversation useful for you.

You don't need to have every document ready before we speak. Start with the question that's on your mind, and we'll help you take the next step.

How often will we meet?

That depends on your situation and the complexity of your planning needs.

Some clients need more frequent conversations during major transitions — retirement, a business sale, a job change, a tax opportunity, or a family event. Others meet on a regular review schedule once the plan is in place. We'll recommend a rhythm that fits your life, not a one-size-fits-all schedule.

Our Approach

Do you manage investment directly?

Yes — investment management is part of our work, but we don't view your portfolio in isolation.

Your investments should be connected to your goals, tax picture, retirement income needs, time frame, risk tolerance, and broader plan. We help you understand not only how your money is invested, but why.

How do you coordinate with my CPA and attorney?

When appropriate, we coordinate with your CPA, attorney, and other professionals so important decisions aren't made in separate silos.

This may include tax planning, estate planning, business structure, insurance, retirement income, charitable planning, or a business transition. Our role is to help make sure the right people are part of the right conversation at the right time.

What does a complete financial plan look like?

A complete financial plan connects the major areas of your financial life — cash flow, investments, taxes, retirement, insurance, estate planning, business planning, debt, education goals, and legacy considerations.

The goal isn't a document that sits in a folder. It's a clear decision-making framework you can review and adjust as life changes.

Fees & Minimums

How are you compensated?

We're a hybrid practice, which means we're paid in more than one way depending on the work we do for you. We'll always tell you, in writing, how a specific recommendation is compensated before you act on it.

For ongoing financial planning and investment management, we're paid by our clients — a flat planning fee based on the scope of your situation, and an annual fee based on a percentage of the assets we manage for you, billed on your total household balance.

For some products — including certain insurance, annuity, and brokerage transactions — we may be paid a commission by the product company. Where that's the case, we'll explain the cost, the alternatives, and why a particular product fits your plan, so you can make the decision with full information.

You should never have to guess how your advisor is paid. We're committed to plain language and full disclosure.

Is there a minimum?

It depends on what you need. There's no asset minimum to begin with a standalone financial plan — that's often the right starting point for professionals and business owners who are building toward their goals.

For ongoing investment management, we're generally a fit for households with $250,000 or more in investable assets. But we always start with a conversation, not a calculator — if we're not the right fit, we'll tell you honestly and point you toward a better resource.

What can I expect to pay?

Your planning fee depends on the scope and complexity of your situation, and your investment management fee is a percentage of assets managed that decreases as your household assets grow. We'll walk you through the specific numbers for your situation before any decision is made.

The goal is simple: no surprises, and a clear understanding of what you're paying for and why.
